Our Team
Kyra Bird
is a Calgary-based journalism student, currently working towards her Bachelor of Communication- Journalism, with a minor in Political Science at Mount Royal University. Her stories have been published in MRU’s Calgary Journal and the Reflector, as well as the Calgary Herald, Calgary Sun and Leduc Representative.
Blaise Kemna
is a creative storyteller committed to authentic and personal journalism. He approaches every story with curiosity and respect and has worked extensively with organizations supporting mental health and peoples with disabilities. He gravitates towards photography and writing and is always thinking about his next creative project.
Hailey Payne
is a Calgary journalist majoring in communications and minoring in marketing. She loves meeting new people and exploring all that the city and all it offers. Hailey enjoys learning new things and is skilled in photography, capturing video, video editing and design. Her stories have been published in the Calgary Journal, the Reflector and the Calgary Herald. She also worked in marketing for Easter Seals Alberta.
Andrea Wong
went into journalism to help others understand the stories that diverse groups experience. She is passionate about covering social issues and has had the joy of working with new Canadians, Indigenous populations and social justice advocates. She loves diving into the creative process and rarely turns down an opportunity to use photography, writing or graphic design.
